Creative Autonomy of AI in Film and Television Creation

Shan Wu

Abstract

This paper explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the creative processes of film and television production. It examines
the application of AI across key stages, including scriptwriting, character and scene design, and post-production, highlighting its potential to
enhance production efficiency and introduce innovative creative possibilities. The paper also critically assesses the limitations of AI in generating creative content, emotional depth, and originality, as well as the challenges it faces in replicating human creativity. To maximize AIs
benefits, it proposes strategies such as defining clear creative goals, maintaining human agency in the creative process, and fostering effective
human-machine collaboration. With advancing technology and greater industry integration, AI is poised to play an increasingly significant
role in shaping the future of film and television, enriching the audiences viewing experience.
