Determined to be Righteous -- The Beginning of Zhang Zais Sanctification

Abstract

In Zhang Zais efforts to become a saint, learning is the only way to become a saint. However, before scholars really begin to
learn, they should do a good job of correcting their minds. Scholars should take seeking Tao and becoming a saint as a persons ambition
in learning, and make themselves firm in learning through modesty, that is, the right heart. The determination and rightness of scholars before
learning determines the final destination of a persons learning and is the beginning of scholars learning.
