A Discussion about the Difference between Interpersonal Communication and Mass Communication

Abstract


Mass communication and interpersonal communication are the main ways of information communication, among which interpersonal communication is more traditional, emphasizing interpersonal relationships, face-to-face talks, and on-site communication. However,
the origin of mass communication is relatively late, relying on advanced science and technology, that is, advanced technology is used as the
main channel for information communication, emphasizing non-presence and large-scale coverage. This article provides an overview of the
connotations of interpersonal communication and mass communication, clarifying the differences between the two communication methods
through connotation analysis, namely the differences in communication coverage and the openness and privacy of communication content,
and analyzing the reasons for the differences.
