An Exploration of the Psychological and Cultural Impact of Artistic Behavior: a Study Based on Chinese Children in Tulsa

Jiehao Lu

Abstract

This study explores the impact of art education on the psychological well-being and cultural identity of Chinese children in Tulsa,
USA. Through interviews and artwork analysis, it was found that artistic creation, as a non-verbal form of expression, helps children release
emotions, manage psychological stress, and develop self-awareness and cultural identity. Ms. Shens classroom practices, emphasizing cultural themes and personalized guidance, provided a safe space for emotional expression, fostered creativity, and alleviated cultural conflicts.
The study highlights the positive role of art education in cross-cultural contexts and offers practical insights for integrating art education with
mental health services in the future.
