The Development of Age-Friendly Design in Short Video Apps from the Perspective of Care Ethics
Abstract
age-friendly design of short video apps continues to face persistent challenges, such as overly complex interfaces, unfriendly functionality,
and significant risks of addiction, failing to adequately reflect care ethics and meet the unique needs of elderly users. From the perspective of
care ethics, this study examines the development of short video apps tailored for older adults, focusing on their digital behavior characteristics
and usability challenges. It explores comprehensive development strategies across three dimensions: technical adaptation, emotional fulfillment, and social responsibility. The proposed strategies include optimizing interface design for accessibility, improving algorithm recommendations to avoid overuse, enhancing emotional connections through interactive features, and promoting industry standardization to create a
more inclusive, ethical, and user-friendly digital ecosystem that respects and values older adults.
