The Impact of Social Media Use on Women’s Attitudes towards Childbearing in China -- Take TikTok as An Example

Abstract

Using a qualitative research approach, the study explored how content on TikTok shapes and disseminates fertility-related information through semi-structured in-depth interviews and social media content analysis, and how this information influences women’s fertility
intentions and fertility fears. The research helps the government and relevant departments formulate more effective fertility policies, helps
women of childbearing age form healthy conceptions about fertility, and highlight recommendations for the effective dissemination of fertility
content on social media.
