Research on the Origin, Inheritance and Development of the Water Dragon Festival in Pingtang County

Abstract

Guizhou Pingtang Water Dragon Festival is a vivid display of regional cultural traditions. The ritual practice of the Water Dragon
Festival is the ethnic bond of cultural identity and the ritual space of the national ‘ three exchanges ‘. It forms local moral discipline and deeply expresses the local national art, philosophy and aesthetics. Limited by factors such as weak awareness of national cultural protection, insufficient economic endogenous power, and insufficient cultural inheritance power, the development of the Water Dragon Festival is hindered.
Based on this, it is proposed to take the lead of the government and pay attention to cultural narrative; develop sports tourism and create tourist routes; the development path of promoting research and practice aims to provide practical experience for the development of the custom of
playing water dragons in Pingtang County.
