Exploration and Comparison of French Impressionist Piano Music Styles -- Take the creation of Debussy and Ravel as an example

Abstract


At the end of 19th century, under the influence of impressionism painting and symbolism poetry, piano music gradually developed
into impressionism with strong color. Debussy and Ravel, as contemporary composers, influenced each other in music creation. Their creative
styles not only reflected the inheritance of impressionism, but also had some differences. This paper will explore the development of French
impressionist piano music, and analyze and compare Debussys and Ravels piano music creation, and explore the similarities and differences
between their creative styles.
