Research on the International Publicity Translation of Shanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage from the Perspective of “ten-tion” Eco-translatology

Abstract

This study explores the translation challenges of Shanxi’s intangible cultural heritage (ICH) within the framework of eco-translatology, emphasising the “ten-tion” method. By analysing the nomenclature of traditional music, the research identifies issues in balancing cultural fidelity and cross-cultural accessibility. The study proposes strategies such as source-contextualization and multi-transformation to enhance
translation quality. The study further advocates for the integration of ICH content into English education and the establishment of governmentled terminology databases. This approach is predicated on the premise that it will enhance global communication of Shanxi’s cultural heritage
while preserving its ecological and cultural essence.
