BioCouture: A Literature Review on Factors Affecting the Development of the Sustainable Fashion Industry and Its Prospects

Wanchu Hou

Abstract

This literature review explores the factors influencing the development of the sustainable fashion industry, with a particular focus on
BioCouturean innovative approach that integrates biotechnology and fashion. The study categorizes the key influencing factors into three
dimensions: consumer awareness and behavior, brand strategies, and the social environment. While consumer interest in sustainable fashion
is increasing, challenges such as limited awareness, high production costs, and scalability issues persist. The review also highlights innovative
brand strategies, including sustainable business models, cross-industry collaborations, and biomaterial research. Additionally, the study examines the role of the social environment in promoting sustainable fashion, emphasizing regulatory frameworks and industry trends. Despite significant progress, gaps in literature remain regarding consumer acceptance and the commercial viability of BioCouture. This review concludes
that while BioCouture presents promising opportunities for the future of sustainable fashion, further research and industry collaboration are
essential for its mainstream adoption.
