Reconstructing Translation Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: A Three-Dimensional Framework for Cultivating Cultural Code Switchers

Abstract


With the rapid development of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, the translation industry is undergoing profound
transformations. Traditional models of translator education face challenges and the imperative of restructuring. Based on the concept of the
Cultural Code Switcher, this paper constructs a three-dimensional educational framework comprising technological empowerment, ethical
internalization, and curricular innovation. The aim is to explore how to reconstruct translation education systems within the AI context and
cultivate versatile translation professionals equipped with cross-cultural communication abilities, AI literacy, and ethical judgment. Through
specific teaching cases and curriculum reform practices both in China and abroad, this study analyzes the evolving role of translators and innovations in educational content, providing theoretical and practical guidance for Chinese universities in nurturing translators for the future
language service ecosystem.
