Translation Studies from the Perspective of Newmarks Translation Theory -- A Case of Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yangs English Translation of A Madmans Diary
Abstract
Newmarks text type theory, covering expressive, informative, and vocative aspects. Semantic translation conveys the original texts emotions
and style, while communicative translation ensures information transmission and reader interaction. The combination of these two strategies
preserves cultural connotations, enhances readability, conveys the works literary value and ideological essence to English readers, and provides a paradigm for balancing faithfulness and acceptability in Chinese literatures English translation.
