The Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Animation Character Design

Abstract

With the rapid development of AI technology, its application in animation creation has become increasingly widespread, especially
showing great potential in character design. This paper mainly discusses AIs specific applications in animation character design, including
deep learning-based style transfer, automatic facial expression generation, and intelligent character modeling recommendations. AI enhances
design efficiency, shortens the creative cycle, facilitates personalized and diverse character generation, and enriches animations aesthetic
expression. Additionally, it analyzes AIs challenges in this field: originality issues, ethical controversies, and the redefinition of designers
roles. By reviewing existing case studies and summarizing technological paths, this paper aims to provide theoretical references and practical
insights for the future deep integration of AI and animation design.
