Exploring the Interplay of Criticism and Creation and Its Role in Art Education: Insights from the Adage, Tang Poetry Flourished Without Theory, Song Poetry Perished With It.

Na Guo*, Ming Yang

Abstract

This paper takes the adage "Tang Poetry Flourished Without Theory, Song Poetry Perished With It" as a starting point to explore
the intricate relationship between criticism and creation, and its implications for art education. By examining the trajectory of Tang and Song
poetry, it analyzes the dialectical interplayboth conflicting and symbioticbetween critical discourse and creative output. In the contemporary landscape, the rise of new media has decentralized critical authority, diversifying both the commentators and forms of critique. While
this presents challenges to objectivity and professionalism, it also enriches creative practice with multiple perspectives. Within art education,
criticism and creation form a dialectically unified, practical system. Their synergistic development is crucial not only for enhancing students
artistic skills but also for fostering critical thinking and innovative capacity. This exploration aims to offer fresh insights into artistic creation
and pedagogy by dissecting this dialectical relationship.
