Analysis on the Reform Approaches of Chinese Painting Teaching in Universities Under Intangible Cultural Heritage

Peng Zhang

Abstract

Intangible cultural heritage (ICH) and Chinese painting share a common philosophical foundation rooted in Eastern philosophy.
Both their creative philosophies and artistic perspectives embody the value orientation of harmony between heaven and humanity. The yinyang balance and void-realism techniques in folk paper-cutting align with the minimalist aesthetics of traditional landscape painting, while the
color separation printing technique in indigo-dyed cloth shares technical similarities with the layered coloring process in meticulous brushwork painting. This cultural genetic similarity provides a natural bridge for integrating ICH into painting education. Based on this premise,
this paper explores reform approaches for Chinese painting instruction in higher education institutions within the context of ICH.
