Shengping Li

Abstract

This paper takes the piano concerto "Ambush on All Sides" as the research subject, delving into the specific application and
artistic value of Chinese opera elements in piano music. By analyzing the work's references to and innovations in opera singing styles,
rhythmic structures, instrumental timbres, and performance conventions, this study reveals a unique path for the integration of Chinese opera with Western piano art. The research finds that through creative transformation of opera elements, "Ambush on All Sides" not only retains the charm and tension of traditional opera but also leverages the symphonic expressiveness of the piano. This provides an exemplary
model for the nationalization of Chinese piano music creation and holds significant importance for promoting contemporary expressions of
traditional culture.
