English Translation Strategic Choices for Prose from a Translation Aesthetics Perspective A Case Study of Zhang Peijis English Version of Tribute to the White Poplar

Abstract


As a vital component of literary translation, the status of prose translation has steadily risen alongside the development of Chinas
cultural outreach initiatives, with its aesthetic value becoming increasingly prominent. This paper examines Zhang Peijis English translation
of Tribute to the White Poplar, analyzing it through the dual dimensions of aesthetic objects within the translation aesthetics frameworkthe
formal system and the non-formal systemto reveal the translations distinctive aesthetic characteristics. The study finds that the translation
effectively employs various strategies and techniques such as domestication, free translation, addition, and combination, significantly showcasing the aesthetic essence of the English version of Tribute to the White Poplar.
