Analysis of the Translation of Long Sentences from Pragmatic Texts into English

Abstract

Against the backdrop of the comprehensive implementation of the rural revitalization strategy and the deepening integration of
culture and tourism, leisure agriculture and rural tourism have become a vital engine for promoting the development of rural industries. The
book Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism, focusing on the integration of agricultural culture and rural tourism, systematically analyzes
various development models and practical pathways. It embodies the methodology and local knowledge in China's rural development, making
the study of its English translation highly significant. This research summarizes three typical structures of long Chinese sentences found in
the source text: topic prominence, serial verbs, and parallel structures, and focuses on how to transform such characteristically Chinese long
sentences into fluent and accurate English expressions. The findings of this study are of great value for accurately conveying the development
wisdom and practical solutions of China's rural leisure agriculture, offering an insightful "Chinese approach" for rural revitalization within the
context of global sustainable development.
