Exploring the Differences Between Chinese and Polish Names from a Linguistic and Cultural Perspective

Abstract

The aim of this article was to conduct a comparative analysis of contemporary naming practices in Poland and China. The article
considered both the diachronic development of naming systems and contemporary trends expressed in semantic, structural, aesthetic, and social choices. The approach used showed the diversity, complexity, and common features of the motivations behind name choice in two culturally and linguistically different countries.
