The Study of Focalization and Narrative Techniques in The Time of the Hero
Abstract
Leoncio Prado Military Academy. This paper aims to examine the multiple focalizers and the innovative narrative techniques employed in the
novel, such as the use of the technique of vasos comunicantes (communicating vessels) and cinematic devices including flashbacks and perspectivism. These strategies enable an in-depth exploration of the characters' psychology and a three-dimensional representation of life at the
military academy, while also shedding light on the darker aspects of Peruvian society.
