A Study on English-Chinese Translation of Tea Culture-related Texts from the Perspective of Differences between Chinese and Western Thinking Modes

Abstract


In the Tang Dynasty, rulers pursued an open policy, enabling many foreign envoysprimarily from Japan and South Koreato
visit and learn from its fine traditional culture. Chinese tea culture thus spread overseas. Later, with the opening of Western new sea routes in
the 17th century, Chinese tea culture was introduced to Europe and gradually spread globally. Focusing on tea-related English-Chinese translation, this paper adopts a Sino-Western cultural comparative approach to explore such translation amid differences in Sino-Western thinking
modes, aiming to provide references for the international communication of tea culture.
