An Integrated Curriculum-Project-Competition Path for Animation Education: Living Inheritance of Local Intangible Cultural Heritage in Wuhan

Siyu Tian

Abstract

To address the disconnection between animation pedagogy and cultural inheritance in higher education, this study explores the construction of an integrated "curriculum-project-competition" teaching path centered on the living inheritance of local intangible cultural heritage (ICH), using Wuhan University of Bioengineering as a case study. The research elaborates on how to systematically integrate Wuhan's
ICH resources into specialized courses through curriculum redesign, project implementation, and competition preparation. Teaching practice
demonstrates that this three-tiered approach effectively enhances students' cultural identity and practical skills, leading to a significant increase
in award rates for student works in national and provincial-level competitions. This model offers a valuable reference for animation teaching
reform that bridges cultural preservation and professional education.
