The Ethical Transformation of Contemporary Cultural Consumption

Yingying Li

Abstract

Promoting the healthy development of cultural consumption and meeting people's aspirations for a better life have become important issues that urgently need to be explored in the new era. Contemporary cultural consumption is confronted with the interweaving and conflict between traditional ethics and current circumstances, and there is an urgent need to enrich and expand the value system of cultural consumption. With the manifestation of sensibility, the emergence of the body and the awakening of the subject, the ethical demands of cultural
consumption are undergoing a structural transformation from rational control to emotional freedom, from the division of body and mind to
the unity of body and mind, and from social discipline to individual liberation. Therefore, transcending the ethical norms based on traditional
epistemology, adapting to the trends of contemporary cultural changes and value transformation, and reshaping an ethical subject full of cultural awareness have become the primary goal of constructing contemporary cultural consumption ethics.
