A Study of the Translation of Culture-Loaded Words in Subtitles under Communicative Translation Theory: A Case Study of China Bouquet
Abstract
culture-loaded words with Chinese cultural characteristics in the subtitles of China Bouquet. This thesis takes China Bouquet as the research
object. Drawing on Newmark's communicative translation theory, the translation strategies adopted by different types of culture-loaded words
in subtitles are analyzed by case analysis to improve the quality and efficiency of translation. Through analysis, it is found that in the process of subtitle translation, translation strategies should be flexibly adopted according to the context of culture-loaded words. Therefore, when
handling culture-loaded words in subtitles, combination of transliteration and annotation, liberal translation, literal translation, omission and
amplification can be adopted.
