The Penetration of Chinese Dialect Protection into Chinese Language Teaching

Xueqin Kang

Abstract

Currently, Chinese language curricula in higher education predominantly utilize Mandarin-based textbooks, teaching methodologies, and resources, while dialects are increasingly marginalized. As vital components of Chinese linguistic culture, Chinese dialects
preserve profound regional cultural heritage. Integrating dialect preservation into language education has become imperative. This study
examines the practical implementation of dialect protection within Chinese language instruction, analyzes its significance, and proposes
targeted strategies to enhance students' dialect awareness and conservation consciousness, thereby promoting the sustainable transmission
of dialectal cultural traditions.
