Abstract

The Belt and Road Initiative provides significant opportunities for the integrated development of cross-border culture and
tourism. As an ancient trade and cultural corridor connecting the Eurasian continent, the revival of the Tea Horse Road has become a
key vehicle for revitalizing cultural heritage along the route and promoting coordinated regional economic development. Hainan, as a
strategic pivot of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, boasts unique tropical tourism resources and a multicultural foundation. Based
on the cooperation framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, this paper systematically analyzes the contemporary connotations and
practical paths of the Tea Horse Road's revival, focusing on its profound impact on Hainan's tourism industry in terms of resource
integration, product innovation, market expansion, and brand upgrading. It also proposes targeted optimization strategies in light of
Hainan's current tourism development status, providing theoretical references and practical insights for Hainan to leverage the cultural
IP of the Tea Horse Road to achieve high-quality tourism development and integrate into the national Belt and Road cultural and tourism cooperation framework.
