Traditional Art Expresses Modern Beliefs, Local Opera Displays Patriotic Sentiments - Review of Henan Quju "Faith"

Yibo Wang

Abstract

Quju "Faith", as a newly composed modern play, has achieved remarkable success in the latest round of the Plum Blossom
Award, the highest honor in Chinese drama. This not only marks the further development of Quju art but also sets a new benchmark for the
creation of new historical and modern plays in Chinese drama. The adaptation and application of traditional Quju tunes in modern plays
are worthy of in-depth study. As a local opera, Quju's creation of "Faith" plays the contemporary main melody on the traditional art form,
showcasing patriotic sentiments.
