Looking at the Cultural Conflicts between Chinese and Western Families from Grandson Comes from America
Abstract
have become increasingly conspicuous. The film Grandson Comes from America is a typical case of the collision between Chinese and Western family cultures. This paper analyzes the manifestations of cultural conflicts between Chinese and Western families from three aspects--
intergenerational interaction, marriage and education--and explores the underlying causes. Finally, strategies for resolving conflicts are proposed, including equal communication and negotiation and mutual learning from educational methods. This study contributes to promoting
the integration of multiculturalism in cross-cultural families, thereby facilitating better harmonious coexistence.
