An Analysis of Aquinas' Religious Aesthetics: Based on "Genesis"

Abstract


Thomas Aquinas was a highly influential thinker in the history of Western thought. His aesthetic ideas were part of his theological
thought. His systematic exposition of the issue of beauty made Aquinas the undisputed representative of medieval aesthetics. One of Aquinas'
historical contributions was to propose three conditions for beauty and expound them from the unity of the transcendent and the empirical.
This article, based on the Book of Genesis, explores Aquinas' aesthetic thought starting from the three conditions of beauty.
