Research on the Use of Rhythmic Structures in Dance Composition

Tong Cui

Abstract

In the entire framework of dance art, rhythm structure is not only a support framework in terms of time, but also a key driving force
for emotional expression and narrative development. This study focuses on the field of dance creation, aiming to comprehensively analyze
the multifaceted application of rhythm structure as a core formal element in the processes of work conception, movement creation, and stage
presentation, as well as the artistic effects it generates. By analyzing the physical characteristics of rhythm and the principles of psychological
perception, combined with examples from both classical and contemporary dance works, this paper illustrates how rhythm structure shapes
the tension, style, and layers of meaning in dance. Ultimately, it provides theoretically valuable and practice-oriented strategic reflections for
dance creation, thereby enhancing the artistic expressiveness and overall cohesion of works.
