Abstract


Dalian, as a crucial port city in northern China, has developed a unique cultural character due to its distinctive historical circum
stances and geographical location. Dalian literature is not merely a regional literary branch, but rather a spiritual history that continuously
evolves amidst the interplay of colonial scars, industrial veins, maritime civilization, and reflections on modernity. This paper aims to trace the
thematic evolution and creative transformations of Dalian literature from the early 20th century to the present, exploring how writers reflected
urban across different historical periods.
