Research on the Current Situation and Optimization Strategies of Music Education in Rural Primary and Secondary Schools

Abstract


As a vital component of aesthetic education, music education serves as a crucial pathway to enhance comprehensive literacy among
rural primary and secondary school students, preserve local cultural heritage, and promote physical and mental well-being.Although China's
rural music education has achieved certain progress, multiple challenges remain due to geographical constraints, resource allocation limita
tions, and teacher shortages. Issues such as insufficient teaching staff, outdated facilities, and ineffective curriculum implementation have sig
nificantly hindered the high-quality development of rural aesthetic education. This study systematically analyzes current challenges based on
practical observations of rural music education, proposing targeted optimization strategies across four dimensions: teacher development, re
source allocation, curriculum implementation, and cultural integration. The aim is to improve the status quo of rural music education, enhance
the quality and efficiency of aesthetic education initiatives, and foster holistic development among rural students.
