A Study on the Aesthetic Characteristics and Creation Path of Character Creation in Contemporary Realistic Animated Short Films
Abstract
In recent years, many animated short films have received enthusiastic responses by adapting cultural classics, folk traditional
stories or other fantasy themes, but the application of realistic themes reflecting social life is relatively rare. Realistic themes can not
only deeply reflect the real society and embody strong humanistic care, but also serve as a key bridge connecting artistic expression and
social issues. Compared with other themes, character creation is more closely related to the quality of works in realistic themes. Successful character creation plays an important role in attracting audiences' attention and leaving a deep impression, and to a certain extent, it
is also a mirror reflecting social reality. Successful character creation is not only authentic and contemporary, but also reflects collective
experience through individual fate, and finally achieves the unity of artistic value and social value. This paper discusses how to make
characters grounded, construct animated roles with both vitality and social metaphor, and realize the multi-resonance of entertainment,
aesthetics and criticism from the development status of realistic themes in animated short films, the importance of character creation and
relevant techniques.
