Digital Body and Intelligent Aria Composition: A Study on the Application of Artificial Intelligence and Extended Reality Technologies in the Transmission and Creation of Chinese Operatic Music

Abstract

Current efforts to transmit Chinese operatic music face two specific challenges: the performing skills of the older generation of artists are difficult to preserve completely, while the younger generation encounters high learning thresholds and low interest. At the same time,
the composition of arias for new productions suffers from both a lack of talent and a lack of effective supporting tools. Starting from these two
problems, this paper discusses how motion capture, extended reality (XR), and artificial intelligence can be used to construct two solutions:
"digital body" and "intelligent aria composition." The former aims to preserve performance schemata with high precision and convert them
into interactive teaching resources; the latter assists in aria design. Using case studies from Yongkang Zhongyue Wu Opera Troupe, Zhejiang
Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe, and other practical examples, the paper analyzes the challenges encountered in realworld applicationssuch
as high implementation costs, a shortage of interdisciplinary talent, and unclear standards and copyright issuesand further discusses how to
transform digital outcomes into resources for music teacher education and public aesthetic education. Ultimately, the goal is to form a humancomputer collaborative working model that allows technology to serve the transmission and innovation of Chinese opera, rather than replacing
human judgement.
