Exploring Aesthetic Education Practices of Integrating Intangible Cultural Heritage Min Opera into Primary and Secondary School Art Education
Abstract
resources for aesthetic education in primary and secondary schools. Using qualitative methods such as document analysis, classroom observation, teaching-case interpretation, and interviews, this study explores the educational value, challenges, and implementation pathways of integrating Min Opera into school art education. The findings show that Min Opera enriches art curricula by offering local, interdisciplinary, and
experiential learning opportunities, helping students develop aesthetic appreciation, cultural understanding, artistic expression, and creative
abilities through activities such as singing, performance, costume observation, and story interpretation. However, challenges remain, including
limited teacher expertise, insufficient curriculum time, weak school–heritage collaboration, and students' unfamiliarity with dialect opera.
