Implementation Strategies of Thematic Learning for "Integration and Practice" in Primary School Mathematics -- A Case Study of Campus Measurement Thematic Competitions

Xin Li

Abstract

"Integration and Practice" is one of the four core learning domains in primary school mathematics, with the core objective of cultivating students' comprehensive literacy and practical ability and reforming the single theory-centered traditional mathematics classroom
teaching model. Thematic learning is the core implementation approach of the "Integration and Practice" domain, which connects mathematical knowledge with practical application by constructing real-life problem situations. Taking the Campus Measurement Thematic Competition
as a research case, this paper analyzes the "Integration and Practice" thematic learning in primary school mathematics from three dimensions:
core characteristics, educational value and implementation strategies. Based on the cognitive development rules of primary school students
and the requirements of the national mathematics curriculum standards, this study constructs a feasible and replicable implementation path for
thematic learning, which solves the common teaching problems of formalized activity design and the separation between knowledge and practice in "Integration and Practice" courses and effectively promotes the all-round development of students' core mathematical literacy, practical
inquiry ability and creative thinking.
