Research on the Current Implementation Status and Optimization Paths of Whole-Person Education under the Background of the New College Entrance Examination Reform

Yachao Li

Abstract

The new college entrance examination reform in China has changed the old education system. The old system was purely examdriven. Now, the focus is clearly shifting to students' comprehensive competencies and personalized growth. This is the core of whole-person
education. This paper studies how primary and secondary schools are actually practicing whole-person education today. It explains the educational value of this approach. It also finds main problems in three key areas: how to integrate courses, how to carry out competency-based
evaluations, and how teachers adjust to these changes. Based on the research, the paper gives specific plans to help schools put whole-person
education into daily teaching more effectively. The goal is to support students' growth in knowledge, ability, and character. It also aims to meet
the new standards for cultivating diverse talents that the reform requires.
