Research on Teaching Strategies for Enhancing Business English Communication Competence in International Business Contexts

Ge Gao

Abstract

International business activities are carried out through real business workflows. Business English communication involves not only
linguistic knowledge and expressive skills, but also comprehensive competencies such as understanding of business rules, information integration and problem resolution. Currently, some business English classrooms still suffer from the separation of language training from business scenarios, fragmented communicative tasks and assessment systems that overly emphasize knowledge memorization. Thus, students are
inadequately equipped to communicate effectively at various business stages such as inquiries, quotations, negotiations and contract signing.
Curriculum reform should center on the chain of international business tasks to restructure course content and build progressive clusters of
situational tasks. Teachers should strengthen multi-round interactive practices and training on communication strategies, and optimize assessment methods based on process evidence. Therefore, students can accurately state their positions, identify communication risks and facilitate
the realization of business objectives amid complex and volatile business environments.
