Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the development path of professional undergraduate English teachers in the background of
digital education. Through literature review and qualitative analysis, this paper defines the basic literacy required by English teachers in the
digital age, including technical literacy, instructional design ability, continuous learning ability and innovative spirit. On this basis, a multilevel and systematic career development model is proposed, which focuses on the updating of teachers skills, knowledge expansion, and the
innovation of teaching concepts. The research emphasizes that teachers should continue to learn new educational technology tools by participating in training and discussion. Meanwhile, universities should build a supportive development environment, such as providing technical
resources and building a learning community. The results provide a direction for guiding professional undergraduate English teachers self-development against the challenge of digital education.
