Reflections on the Evaluation of University Teachers Development from the Perspective of Teaching Scholarship

Abstract


The proposal of Boyers concept of scholarship of teaching expands the connotation and extension of scholarship and balances
the relationship between teaching and research in universities. Based on the connotation of teaching scholarship, this paper reviews the history
of development and evaluation of university teachers, considers reform and innovation of the evaluation system of University Teachers development from the perspective of teaching scholarship. Some suggestions are put forward, such as adding teaching evaluation into the academic
evaluation system, emphasizing on process evaluation, and guiding by the value of students benefits, so as to expand the space for teachers
professional development.
