Reading Teaching of English Majors Based on Multimodal Discourse Theory

Abstract


Reading teaching of English majors in colleges and universities under the guidance of multimodal discourse theory emphasizes the
integrated application of visual, auditory and other modalities to create an immersive reading classroom and promote students deep learning.
In the reading teaching of English majors in colleges and universities, the application of multimodal discourse theory can enrich the classroom
teaching method, enhance students reading interest, and make up for the deficiencies of the traditional reading teaching mode. The article
firstly describes the necessity of English reading teaching under the multimodal discourse theory, and then analyzes the reading teaching
strategies of college English majors under the multimodal discourse theory, in order to improve the quality of college English majors reading
teaching and stimulate the students reading enthusiasm.
