Abstract

The teaching of mathematics in the third stage plays a bridging role in the development of students mathematical thinking and
abilities. The unit of Circle is connected to middle school geometry and is also associated with squares, triangles, etc. in the first and second
stages of learning. At the same time, students in sixth grade are gradually transitioning from concrete thinking to abstract thinking. In primary
school mathematics teaching, guided by the concept of core literacy, innovative design and application of large unit teaching activities are
explored to promote students in-depth exploration of unit content and cultivate their mathematical thinking. This article explores mathematics
teaching under the guidance of core literacy, actively explores the design and planning of large unit teaching activities, and takes the teaching
of the Circle unit in the first volume of the Peoples Education Press sixth grade as a case study to develop students core literacy and gradually form a sense of quantity and reasoning awareness; At the same time, carefully design expressive tasks and evaluations in teaching design,
advocate layered assignments, and improve students comprehensive abilities.
