Approaches to Integrating Moral Education with Primary English Teaching

Hetong Wang

Abstract

This paper explores the integration of moral education into primary English teaching, emphasizing its significance in fostering students holistic development. With the implementation of the 2022 curriculum standards, primary English education is no longer limited to linguistic skills but also focuses on cultivating students moral awareness, cultural identity, and social responsibility. The study identifies current
challenges, such as the overemphasis on intellectual development, monotonous teaching methods, and inadequate moral evaluation systems.
To address these issues, the paper proposes practical approaches, including extending textbook content to incorporate moral themes, diversifying teaching methods through cooperative and game-based learning, and constructing a multidimensional evaluation system. The ultimate goal
is to achieve a synergistic effect where language learning and moral cultivation mutually reinforce each other, preparing students to become
ethically grounded and globally competent individuals.
