Suggestions for Language Planning of Hainan Island Based on Hainan Free Trade Port

Ajuan Zeng

Abstract

Since the proposal of the construction plan for Hainan Free Trade Port in 2018, Hainan has engaged in cooperation with countries
around the world in areas such as economy, education, and security. Language is a medium for people to exchange ideas, and it inevitably has
an impact on politics, economy, technology, and even culture itself. In the context of free trade zones, it is very important to use the window
of language to engage in dialogue with the world. The construction of free trade zones not only requires a large number of foreign language
talents, but also needs to further promote Mandarin. At the same time, it is also necessary to realize that the local dialect, as a cultural characteristic, possesses an indestructible power. This article will explore how to plan the language resources of Hainan Island and better connect it
with the world.
