A Study of Teachers Role and Professional Development under the Concept of Big Education

Abstract


With the development of the times, the concept of big education is gradually emerging, which puts forward new requirements for
teachers roles and professional development. This paper explores in depth the connotation of the Big Education Concept, describes the evolution of teachers roles under the guidance of this concept, and proposes strategies for teachers professional development. It is found that
the Big Education Concept emphasises the comprehensiveness, lifelong and personalised nature of education, requiring teachers not only to
have solid subject knowledge, but also to have the ability of cross-disciplinary integration, innovative teaching methods and the awareness of
lifelong learning. The paper concludes with corresponding recommendations for teacher education reform to promote teachers professional
growth and meet the needs of the era of Big Education.
