Analysis of Factors Influencing the Well-being of Students in Yunnan Based on Grounded Theory
Abstract
well-being using grounded theory. Based on the PERMA well-being model in positive psychology, a semi-structured interview framework
was built. Eighteen NHEUS were interviewed. Through open coding, 176 initial concepts were extracted from the raw data. Axial coding further grouped them into 6 main categories: social support systems, personal achievement and development, ethnic cultural identity, economic
and material security, mental health and emotion management, and external environmental support, covering 17 categories such as family support and academic skill enhancement. Eventually, a model of factors influencing the well-being of NHEUS was constructed via selective coding and confirmed to have reached theoretical saturation after test. The research reveals that the well-being of this group is comprehensively
influenced by multiple factors and offers a systematic theoretical basis for enhancing their well-being.
