Cultivation of Cultural Awareness in College English Teaching Under the Perspective of Cultural Confidence

Abstract

In the context of globalization, college English teaching aims not only to impart language skills but also to cultivate modern citizens
with an international perspective and cross-cultural communication abilities. As China increasingly takes center stage on the world stage, the
establishment of cultural confidence is particularly important for college students. This helps them better understand their own culture and
enables them to show respect and tolerance when communicating with people from different cultural backgrounds. In recent years, the number
of Chinese college students participating in overseas exchange programs has been growing annually, indicating an urgent need to integrate
cultural awareness cultivation into college English teaching. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the strategies for cultivating cultural
awareness in college English teaching from the perspective of cultural confidence, in order to enhance teaching effectiveness, cultivate highquality talents with global competence, and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
