Abstract

As an integral part of the higher education system, college English courses are increasingly highlighting their cultural educational
functions. In the wave of globalization, English is not only the common language for international communication but also a bridge for cultural dissemination. With rich and varied teaching contents and flexible teaching methods, the university English programme imparts language
knowledge, devotes itself to cultivating students cross-cultural communicative competence, and promotes students understanding of and respect for different cultures. In this process, the dissemination of Chinas excellent traditional culture is particularly important.
