Abstract

Against the backdrop of intensifying employment pressure for university graduates, music majors generally experience high levels of employment anxiety due to limited career paths and high occupational uncertainty. Based on Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), this study explores the influence of employment anxiety on the career development confidence of music majors and analyzes the mediating roles of self-efficacy and emotional stability. Through a questionnaire survey of 300 undergraduate music majors at a comprehensive university, using structural equation modeling and Bootstrap mediation testing methods, it was found that employment anxiety significantly negatively predicts career development confidence; self-efficacy and emotional stability both play significant mediating roles and form a chain mediation effect. This study not only enriches cross-disciplinary research in vocational psychology and art education but also provides a practical basis for career guidance and psychological support for music majors.
