On the Existing Problems of College English Teaching and the Corresponding Countermeasures

Abstract


As an important part of higher education, college English teaching undertakes the important mission of cultivating students' crosscultural communicative competence and improving their international vision. With the acceleration of the globalization process and the
deepening of educational reform, the traditional public English teaching model has been difficult to meet the needs of the times. Based on the
analysis of the problems existing in the teaching objectives, contents, methods, evaluation system and teaching staff of the current college
public English teaching, this paper puts forward the pertinent reform countermeasures combined with educational theory and practical experience, aiming to provide reference for improving the quality of public English teaching and cultivating compound talents who meet the needs
of the society.
